Our Story

Hana is Montana’s original Japanese restaurant located downtown in beautiful Missoula, Montana.  Japanese owned and operated, we specialize in sushi, but have a wide variety of authentic Japanese dishes such as ramen, curry, teriyaki, katsu, and tempura. We have a carefully curated sake collection, as well as a full beer and wine list. We opened as Sushi Hana in in 1998 and were the first sushi bar and Japanese restaurant in Montana making us “The First Best Sushi Bar in the Last Best Place”.  In 2025 we relocated to our own space in the historic Wilma Building next to Caras Park and shortened our name to Hana
